Brambleton is a regional park, owned and operated by Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority. Because of the regional park distinction and because of the pricey competitor golf courses in the area, it tends to have a “municipal” course feel to it.

When pulling up to the course the first thing you notice is the pool and tennis courts, making you realize this is in fact a country club; the driving range and the pool was being used by children of members and all were polite and acted as if they were at a golf course.

The Easton Club, in Easton Maryland, has recently changed ownership and I had heard great things so I decided to play it and catch up with an old friend. When I woke up and looked outside, I just had a feeling it wasn't going to be a successful day.

Eishenhower Golf Course, located in Crownsville Maryland, is managed by Billy Casper Golf and offers a fun and challenging experience. On Saturday morning of Memorial day weekend, I decided to play around in the Annapolis area; that is the only regret I have of the day.

I have to start this review with a disclaimer: I am personally biased towards this course, as the score I decided to shoot on my review day turned out to be the best score of my life, along with a hole-in-one. Go figure.

International is a country club located in near the Chantilly area of Fairfax County, VA. As a country club, it is not open to the public unless you are a guest of a member. The course would be just what you expect from a high-quality country club too: beautiful layout and in excellent condition. The course has a variety of hole types, and even some rarities: a par-5 on the opening hole, and back-to-back par 5s on holes 15 & 16. For golfers used to the Northern Virginia area, one other item of note is that there is not a single fairway that has houses lining it.

Let's get this out of the way right now... they named it right by calling it a "Golf Park"; this isn't a Golf Course or Club by any stretch. But don't let the modest offerings and beginnings fool you.

This hidden gem, resting along 3000 feet of the Mississippi River, is very unique and one of the most beautiful courses I have played in the Twin Cities area. About 15 minutes east of St. Paul in Cottage Grove, the Mississippi Dunes classifies as a must play if in the area, and has quickly become a favorite for my friends and I.

Very scenic course. Great views of the water as you pull in. Course was in great shape overall. Well-groomed fairways, sandy bunkers, and challenging rough. If you are going to shoot well, you better do well on the front 9. Back nine is a lot more narrow and filled with tree-lined holes.

Named for the famous Confederate General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson, Stonewall Golf Club is nestled in Gainesville, VA on the edge of Lake Manassas. This Tom Jackson-designed course features rolling fairways, lush greens, strategically placed bunkers, and some gorgeous views. There is a good mix of scoring opportunities and difficult holes, and getting your tee shot in the fairway is put at a premium as many holes have water or homes/OB where an errant drive will quickly lead to dropped shots.
