Phil Mickelson – Using the TaylorMade SLDR?!0

philsldr When you think of Phil Mickelson what do you think of? I know when I think of him 4 things come to mind, Lefty, Crazy Good Short Game, KPMG and CALLAWAY. So why was Phil seen using the new TaylorMade SLDR driver last weekend at the President's cup? MyGolfSpy.com reported last year that Phil has one of the most flexible equipment contracts on the PGA tour, and that Callaway gave him their blessing to use the TaylorMade driver. So why did Phil feel the need to use the SLDR? Apparently he wanted an Ultra Low Spin driver for the set up at Muirfield Village, and Callaway is apparently in the process of producing a similar set up driver, so they have no fear of Phil switching permanently before their new driver is ready for him to use.Check Out the Full Review Here

Putting Alley – Putting Stroke Isolator2

There are a million gadgets on the market today to help your golf game, a good portion of the them work well and here at Average Guy Golf if we come across one, we like to pass it along to our readers. Close to half your strokes are on the green, yet we all spend time ripping drivers as far as we can hit it on the driving range as practice. Practicing putting isn't flashy, and you won't turn heads on the putting green but practicing putting is a must to improve your score. That being said if when at the course you want to rip drivers and not putt, AGG has found a solution for you, a Putting Stroke Isolator by Putting Alley. No matter if you are in the office, at night before bed, in a hotel room while traveling or in your living room watching Sesame Street with your kids you can practice your putting stroke which will improve your golf game dramatically.Check Out the Full Review Here

HIRZL – Trust Control Glove1

HIRZL On friday here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the calendar said May 23rd but it felt like a cold windy March day, with patches of rain coming through as well. On a normal day, when asked to play golf, I would look at my buddies and ask if they were crazy; however on this day, I had just received the HIRZL Trust Control to review. I have heard that these gloves are great in the rain and I figured what better way to test it then try it myself. After spending an hour on the range testing the glove, in a dry patch of the day, I found the glove to be incredibly tacky. Read More...Check Out the Full Review Here

Niion Golf Grips – Golf Pride0

blue If you have read any of my other reviews, you can tell I like to "stand out" a little bit on the golf course; I like to be able to add a little personaility to my golf style, and not be the guy in khakis and a blue shirt. Well that same style translates over to my clubs as well, and that is why I was very excited to test out the new Niion Golf Grips by Golf Pride. These grips come in 5 fun color schemes, and are each two different colors that have a bright accent to go along with the their main color. Read More...Check Out the Full Review Here
