On friday here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the calendar said May 23rd but it felt like a cold windy March day, with patches of rain coming through as well. On a normal day, when asked to play golf, I would look at my buddies and ask if they were crazy; however on this day, I had just received the HIRZL Trust Control to review. I have heard that these gloves are great in the rain and I figured what better way to test it then try it myself. After spending an hour on the range testing the glove, in a dry patch of the day, I found the glove to be incredibly tacky.

If you have read any of my other reviews, you can tell I like to "stand out" a little bit on the golf course; I like to be able to add a little personaility to my golf style, and not be the guy in khakis and a blue shirt. Well that same style translates over to my clubs as well, and that is why I was very excited to test out the new Niion Golf Grips by Golf Pride. These grips come in 5 fun color schemes, and are each two different colors that have a bright accent to go along with the their main color.

There isn't much I don't love about the game of golf, but one thing I have always been fascinated by is the ever evolving fashion of the game of golf. You certainly can not getting any bolder than LoudMouth Golf; with their crazy patterns and bright colors, I hope your game can live up to the attention you will be receiving on the course. In my opinion the golf course isn't a private school with a uniform, not everyone has to be in a khakis and dark blue or other dull solid color polo.

Named for the famous Confederate General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson, Stonewall Golf Club is nestled in Gainesville, VA on the edge of Lake Manassas. This Tom Jackson-designed course features rolling fairways, lush greens, strategically placed bunkers, and some gorgeous views. There is a good mix of scoring opportunities and difficult holes, and getting your tee shot in the fairway is put at a premium as many holes have water or homes/OB where an errant drive will quickly lead to dropped shots.

Very scenic course. Great views of the water as you pull in. Course was in great shape overall. Well-groomed fairways, sandy bunkers, and challenging rough. If you are going to shoot well, you better do well on the front 9. Back nine is a lot more narrow and filled with tree-lined holes.

While amateur golfers everywhere begin to tee off their tournament season, mental preparation continues to be one of the most important elements in performance. It is important to remain calm and composed pre, during, and post-tournament in order to play your best.
As if playing golf isn’t already hard enough, it’s inevitable that Mother Nature will add an element to one or more of your rounds this year. In terms of difficulty, playing golf in moderate-to-high winds is one of the most challenging elements to contend with when you’re trying to hit the shots needed to close out your buddy on Saturday afternoon. From a gentle breeze to 40 mph gusting winds, the ability to hit successful shots in the wind is something that every golfer must develop. Fortunately, there are a few specific keys to playing in the wind that make it easier to control your golf ball.
