The other day while reviewing the Fall line up from LoudMouth Golf for 2013, I found myself saying a dark blue golf glove would match the new wind Jackets, just released by Loudmouth, perfectly. Oddly enough the next day, AGG had a package from GFORE waiting, and it contained a Dark Blue High Quality golf glove, that matched the jacket perfectly.
The founder of GFORE, Mossimo Giannulli comes from a Fashion background and you can tell by a simple jump over to their website. When going to GFORE’s website you would think you are at Tommy Hilfiger or another big name in fashion’s website; Mossimo has a great background in the fashion industry but a love for the game of golf, and that shine’s through in the fun, bright, yet not gimmicky very high quality products he puts out. Fashion has been a part of the game of golf, since well its creation and this year we have seen everything get a makeover, from shoes, pants, shirts, hats to yes even the golf glove itself, white and the occasional black are not your only options anymore.
My. Giannulli is a member at the Bel-Air country club and is a bit of a golf traditionalist, he says he never wears shorts to the course, always pants. So when he set out to make a stylistic yet high quality golf glove he knew he could only use top of the line materials and he choose grade-AA cabretta leather for all of his golf gloves. The awesome story about Giannulli is he hand tested all the prototypes himself, either spending hours on the range or playing round after round; until they came up with the perfect stitching, dye process and construction of a glove he felt worthy of putting his name on.
The great thing about GFore that set’s them apart from other colored golf gloves on the market is that you can design your own glove, and make it your own. You have the option to make the glove, thumb, patch and trim all different colors, so you can truly say you have a one of kind GFore golf glove. They also sell a multitude of solid colored golf gloves, sure to match any of the craziest outfits you can come up with for the golf course. My personal favorite is a style that is already customized on their site for you, called the Liberty, a white glove with a blue thumb and a red patch.
The great thing about GFore is their gloves look amazing but almost feel like you aren’t wearing a glove at all. If I didn’t need the extra grip, I wouldn’t wear a glove, I like being able to feel as much of the club and grip as possible, the grade-AA cabretta leather is ultra thin and soft, making you feel like you aren’t even wearing a glove, yet you still have exceptional grip. I have played 6 rounds with this glove and you would think I just took it out of the container yesterday, it is very durable and shows no wear on the palm or face of thumb, both spots I normally wear through gloves like crazy at.
While the gloves are a little on the expensive side of things at $35 per glove, I can tell you the durability will make them worth it; the fact you can design your own and add your own flare to your glove makes it worth it in my book.
I am also very excited to try the The Gallivanter golf shoe which combines an athletic fit with pre-treated, water-resistant suede in signature G/FORE colourways.
