I am guessing a majority of you reading this have seen a Part Time golf hat or logo somewhere and thought to yourself, what a cool logo/hat wonder what company that is. Part Time golf has really taken off over the last year and in part because of a show on the Golf Channel called the Big Break. I know I first noticed Part Time golf, when a contestant Brent Long on the Mexico season wore a trucker style hat in every episode, that from a distance appeared to have the MLB logo on it. After pausing the show a few times, and doing a quick search I stumbled upon Part Time golf, and thought how perfect a fit they are for our readers at Average Guy Golf.
After doing some research, I found that Part Time Golf is a website that self describes themselves as connecting golfers one player at a time. As you dive more into the site you find that you can sign up and find other golfers in your area and post about anything golf related in their community. Essentially it is an online meeting place for Part Time / Weekend Golfers IE: the Average Guy Golfer in us all.
For the Player in All of Us – Part Time Golf
The best part of Part Time golf however are their hats, they have many different styles from the Flex Fit hat I tested to a trucker style mesh hat that the golfer can wear on and off the course. I love their logo, growing up playing and loving baseball as my first passion, the logo really hits home, it is red, white and blue with a golfer squatting to read the putt in white, much like the MLB logo with the guy in white swinging. I got in contact with Troy Hamilton over at Part Time golf and he sent a Flex Fit hat to review, as well 6 Snap Back (I still call them trucker style) hats to do to giveaways to get into the hands of our readers. So look for the reviews coming soon, while chatting with him I noticed that not only did Brent Long during the Mexico season wear Part Time but Derek Bohlen from the Greenbier season was also seen wearing Part Time during his time on the show. I also found that at Pebble Beach last year at the Pro-Am the one and only Bill Murray was wearing Part Time gear, if it’s good enough for Bill F’ing Murray it is good enough for all of us. I love the premise of connecting golfers one golfer at a time, combine that with an awesome logo and hats that can be worn on and off the course and Part Time will be a big part of my golf apparel moving forward.
On to the hat I tested, I had a white flex fit hat with the non-traditional Part Time logo on it. Instead of the red, white and blue logo this logo has a black outline of the golfer squatting down to read his putt. A great play on their original logo, and makes the hat work on and off the golf course. The hat fits the typical golfer style, but can easily be worn with jeans and a Tshirt to one of the local dock bars around my house. The hat is 90% polyester and 3% spandex to give you a comfortable fit, that breathes on the hottest of days. The traditional red, white and blue logo is embrodiered on the back of the hat, and the hat comes in two sizes S/M and L/XL. The L/XL fits my big head just fine, though the one negative I would say is I would like a deeper hat. Size wise the hat fits perfect but it sits a little higher on my head then other flex fit hats I own.
Overall, I think the premise and logo design of Part Time Golf makes their hats something every golfer out there should have. Look for our giveways of their snap back hats coming very soon. We will be doing one every other week for the next three months!
