Being a weekend golfer, when the weekend rolls around many of us are so excited to play that no matter the conditions we are going to play golf that weekend. If any of you are like me, who lives in Mid-Atlantic region, we get sporadic showers all the time, leaving it muggy and humid on the course when it isn’t raining. So what do you do? Do you bring out your rain pants to put on over your shorts and sweat to death while it is raining? Do you just wear shorts and then play soaking wet for the rest of the round if a shower pops up? Or do you simply not go and miss a weekend of golf because of the weather? Good news is the guys over at Johnnie-O have found a great solution to this problem. Rain Shorts. Rain Shorts are exactly that, the same purpose as rain gear pants but in a shorts design. You simply keep a pair in your bag, and if a storm or shower creeps up, throw them on over top of your golf shorts and you are instantly water proof while still staying cool. These shorts have easy access snaps on the side with three snaps, so you can’t fit them easily over any belt and short combination. They have zippered pockets which make it easy to protect your golf GPS, range finder, cell phone or even keep your wallet dry so you have dry money for the cart girl. Made of 100% polyester the moisture wicks away on the surface of these shorts and your golf shorts underneath stay dry, all while allowing your legs to stay cool on hot days. These slip on easy right over your golf shoes, and can be put on in seconds; so carry them in your golf bag and you have no problem throwing them on and not slowing down play at all.
One none golf thing I will mention, is growing up on the Chesapeake Bay in maryland, if you go rock fishing or crabbing and you wear standard khaki material shorts. After 30 minutes on the bay you are comfortable and your shorts are soaked. You can wear these rain shorts as regular shorts you don’t have to put them on over anything if you don’t want. So out on the water these shorts are great as well.
