If you have read any of my other reviews, you can tell I like to “stand out” a little bit on the golf course; I like to be able to add a little personality to my golf style, and not be the guy in khakis and a blue shirt. Well that same style translates over to my clubs as well, and that is why I was very excited to test out the new Niion Golf Grips by Golf Pride. These grips come in 5 fun color schemes, and are each two different colors that have a bright accent to go along with the their main color. Black grips are very boring, and companies have started to change the color of the club heads, but why not change the color of the grip as well? Golf Pride is a company known for quality and they certainly didn’t let down with their Niion grips. Right now the grips are only available in standard and not mid-sized but if they sell well I am sure Golf Pride will release a mid-sized version of them soon. I found that if I put three wraps under the grips, I get the same feel as my old mid-sized grips. For these grips Golf Pride introduced a hexagonal 3-D pattern in the key gripping areas to allow for more stability through your shot as well as great feedback, you can really feel what the club is doing in your hands. I went with the blue grip with the neon green accent and they really make my Ping i20′s and Anser woods pop, the green and blue bring some brightness to my otherwise all black driver and fairway woods. I have tested these for a few rounds now, and they are a little above average with moisture control. The first round I played it was very humid, and at the end of the round my hands did slip a little, however I believe this was because it was the first time using the grips. Since then these grips have been very tacky, and have worked very well. They have a differently feel then the corded version of Golf Prides I am I used to, and at first your hand will feel like it slips a little but in fact it isn’t.
- Looks Great Brings Personality to the Course
- Very good feel and feedback
- They are only about $8 a grip which is very good for a high quality grip
- Fun Colors to choose from
- A little more slick then the corded version of grips but a much better price
Over all I love these grips and what they bring to the table, you can really make your clubs stand out and had some flare to your golf game. They over great feel, and are very durable for a great price.
