Driver: Ping G10
I bought the G10 when it first was released from Ping and have been a fan of it for a while. The loft is 8.5 degrees and a standard length of 46”. I have a swing speed that averages 116-118mph, so I ordered a ProForce V2 x-flex shaft weighted at 65 grams. It has a Golf Pride New Decade tour grip with five wraps of tape underneath (I have bigger hands, need more spacing). I’ve never hit a club more consistently with a natural draw, and the ball will really go off the face when you’re swinging well.
Fairway Metal: Ping G10
I bought the G10 fairway metal with the driver, and it’s fitted identically. 13.5 degrees loft, ProForce V2 x-flex shaft, Golf Pride New Decade tour grip with five wraps of tape. Beautifully smooth and consistently easy to hit off of the fairway and the tee.
Hybrid: Ping G10
Sort of a theme running here, but I love these metals. Same type of fit here, 21 degrees loft (between a 2 and 3 iron), ProForce V2 x-flex shaft, Golf Pride New Decade tour grip with five wraps of tape. Smooth and easy out of the fairway and off of the tee.
Irons: Ping i3 Blades 3- PW
Old school irons here. Classic, but still incredibly easy to hit. Ping custom fits clubs as well as anyone, and they took these clubs from my high school years to now and matched them accordingly. They were bent to the proper lie angles and re-shafted with True Temper Gold x100s. Gold Pride New Decade grips with five wraps of tape.
Wedges: Titleist Vokey Designed 54-08 SW, 58-08 LW, Spin Milled
These are the newest clubs in my bag, and I definitely struggle with them. When I hit them square and on the face, they will travel the exact distance I need them to go with a tremendous amount of control. When I miss, I either hit fat with a chunked shot result, or thin with a low bladed liner result. I also need a gap wedge, but I am waiting until I purchase a new set of irons.
Putter: Scotty Cameron Del Mar Pro Platinum
I can’t put enough emphasis in words on how much I love this putter, and Scottys in general. I chose this one because I prefer a half mallet shape with the shaft on the hosel of the putter as opposed to the middle. If you ever damage your putter, or need general maintenance, Scotty will do the work for free- you simply pay shipping and handling. I usually re-grip this putter every year.
Balls- Titleist Pro V1x
I never bought into the hype of the golf ball making that much of a different until I played the Pro V1x. Distance, spin, accuracy and overall reliability make this an absolute must-have for my game. If you’re concerned with the price, I purchase them at Dick’s Sporting Goods usually when I have a rewards club certificate or a gift card. And you can purchase the older versions of the Pro V1x cheaper than the new ones.
